Things I Can No Longer Do, But Things I Really Can Do Now

I could make a list a mile long to describe the things I can no longer do; but that would be boring. The list of things I really shouldn’t do is probably longer; it includes the following:

  • wearing high heels
  • standing on my head
  • kneeling
  • climbing trees
  • diving into a pool (I’ll just walk on in, thank you very much)
  • climbing up a rope
  • eating pizza at midnight
  • running for exercise; walking works great for me

…and the list goes on. But the upside are many things that I really can do now as I am retired and I can pretty much do whatever the hell I want to do, such as:

  • writing
  • reading
  • making spaghetti sauce with our own tomatoes and peppers
  • watching TV
  • staying in my PJs all day if I want to
  • futzing around in the garden
  • making jewelry
  • making cookies early in the morning
  • napping
  • not wearing makeup (in house only!)

And so it goes. There are great benefits to being older, and best of all; you’re the boss of what you can and can’t do!
