It’s the Little Miracles…

The other morning I was making spaghetti sauce with our abundance of tomatoes. I needed a few green peppers and some basil and oregano from the garden. It had rained the night before (or, as we like to call it; free garden water), and everything was fresh and sprinkled with rain drops.

As I bent over to pick some oregano, I noticed that, at the top of the plant, there was a single cupped leaf (oregano leaves are about the size of a tip of a child’s forefinger), and in the middle of it was a little spider web. It fit right inside that minuscule oregano leaf. It was sprinkled liberally with tiny droplets of rain, making it look like the world’s smallest diamond veil.

Such a small thing, but how beautiful it was!

Miracles aren’t always great big things, like finding a $50 bill on the ground, or a gold ring in the pocket of an old jacket. Sometimes it’s the little miracles that make all the difference.

Back in the fall of 2015, I was driving home after visiting my mother, who was in home Hospice at the time. I felt utterly drained from helping her and my dad for the last three days, and I felt as if I hadn’t done nearly as much as I could have. I knew that I would soon lose my mother, and was worried about my 90-year old dad,  her main caretaker. I felt sad, angry and useless.

I came to an intersection, and there was one car in front of me. I happened to look at the license plate, which read “URLOVED.” It hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks; call it a twist of fate or coincidence, but there it was—a message I badly needed. Another little miracle!

I could go on and on about the little miracles in my own life, but you get the general idea. Miracles of all sizes are all around us all the time. All we need to do is look for them; they are there.

Those little miracles, for me, are my guideposts when life gets overwhelming. For me I so need them! … I am grateful for the conscious awareness to see and feel them in my heart. The little miracles are God’s gifts telling me “I am in His Divine Timing” …
Thanks for sharing your miracles Jane …. they inspire and uplifted me this am.
