Though April showers may bring May flowers
It sure gives me the glowers
That all those bowers of flowers
Are still snoring below the ground
Which is still frozen like a pound
Of top-notch ground round—
Enough with the rain and snow I say!
How about some of those famous flowers in May?
They can come along most any day!
It’s been a long winter,
And I sure would like a glinter
Of Spring, or even just a splinter
Of hope that this cold and icy rain soon may pass
So that we all can loll upon the grass
And look up at the sun, bright as brass!
