It’s Cold, Cold, Cold!

The winter blast has just begun,

Leaving us to feel that the good old sun

Has turned its face toward southern climes

And has taken up drinking gin with limes—

But here in the Northeast on planet Earth

We are currently suffering from a dearth

Of warmth and cheer and light and heat

Leaving us so freezing cold that our poor feet

Need far more socks and boots than ever—

It’s a deep, blue cold that feels like forever

Since any of our appendages have felt warm and snug—

(Or at least as toasty and your average bug in a rug)

Even the thought of Christmas coming,

With all good wishes, hope and angels humming

Can’t erase how we are turning into frozen statues

With colds and flu and trumpeting great big achoooooos!

Best bundle up, huddle up and drink up lots of cocoa,

Before our hearts and heads turn from pleasant to downright loco—

At least we know that winter doesn’t last the whole year though

So stoke up the fire, put on your woolies and socks before you turn blue!

    Thanks, Pam!

I can only imagine how cold it must be where you are. Stay warm and keep the cocoa hot!
